The \u2018Pink Caravan Corporate Wellness Day\u2019 has already recorded several beneficiaries across numerous corporates starting from this April. The UAE\u2019s private-public sectors has been gradually opening its arms to Pink Caravan endeavour to draw attention and support towards the awareness, early detection and treatment of breast cancer.<\/p>\n

Pink Caravan is a breast cancer awareness initiative under Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP), a UAE civil society organisation established in 1999. The initiative has already offered cancer awareness sessions and free check-ups through 11 awareness activations that were provided using different Pink Caravan services between April and September across several emirates this year.<\/p>\n

Screenings have been conducted for the employees of different entities such as Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, Chalhoub Group, RAK Courts Department and RAK Women\u2019s Jail.<\/p>\n

Dr. Sawsan Al Madhi, Director General of FOCP and Head of the Pink Caravan Ride Medical and Awareness Committee, has encouraged private organisations in the UAE to come forward and sign up for Pink Caravan\u2019s Corporate Wellness Day.<\/p>\n

She noted, \u201cIn the past nine years, Pink Caravan has been able to detect more than 73 positive cases after delivering over 64,000 free clinical examinations across all seven emirates. Many of the patients we support have fought and conquered the disease, and are living a healthy and happy life today. Our efforts have only been successful because of the support and acceptance we have received from all corners of the nation. We have accomplished a lot, but more needs to be done. To this end, we urge more organisations to come forward and promote a stronger culture of corporate social responsibility in the UAE by adopting the Pink Caravan Corporate Wellness Day\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe support from our public-private partnerships (PPP) will be utilized into our future efforts and initiatives to assist breast cancer patients in the UAE,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Ways to benefit from Pink Caravan Corporate Wellness Day <\/p>\n

As the world prepares for the International Breast Cancer Awareness Month observed in October every year, Pink Caravan has urged more entities to take part of the Pink Caravan Corporate Wellness Day, which will feature expert educational sessions, clinical breast examinations in addition to Mammogram screenings on site benefiting more than 500 employees.<\/p>\n

With Abu Dhabi\u2019s Al Fahim Group, the Emirates Global Aluminium branches in the capital and Dubai, and Al Hamra Group in RAK having booked corporate wellness days for their employees \u2013 all scheduled for the month of October \u2013 more UAE corporates are encouraged to partake in this drive that aims to ensure a healthier future for the UAE. Pink Caravan will continue the Corporate Wellness Day activation until year end.<\/p>\n

Pink Caravan Ride was founded in 2011 under the patronage of Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Founder and Royal Patron of FOCP, International Ambassador of the World Cancer Declaration for Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), International Ambassador for Childhood Cancer for UICC and wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah. The initiative has offered more than 64,000 free clinical examinations since its inception including 18,630 mammograms and 2,945 ultrasounds.<\/p>\n

At the end of the ninth Pink Caravan Ride, 73 positive cases were detected by the Pink Caravan medical team. The stats breakup offered by the Medical Awareness Committee of ride includes 53,175 women and 10,897 men.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
