In response to its recent Zakat campaign in aid of cancer sufferers, the Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) has, for the second consecutive year, received significant financial support from the Sharjah Cooperative Society.

Carpetland, part of the Al Aqili Furnishings Group, collected a total of AED 229,433 for charity during an exclusive gala dinner and live auction held at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club. The funds were raised in aid of Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP), a charitable, volunteer-based foundation operating under the umbrella of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.

The Gulf Federation for Cancer Control (GFFCC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the diversified global healthcare leader sanofi-aventis. The agreement was signed by GFFCC President, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Turki and sanofi-aventis Gulf General Manager, George Morcos, at Expo Sharjah on Friday 6 May 2011.

Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Honorary President of the Friends of Cancer Patients society (FOCP), the 5th Gulf Federation for Cancer Control (GFFCC) Conference was opened yesterday (Thursday 5 May 2011) by His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Seaports and Customs in the Government of Sharjah.
